Dear IMA West Chester Chapter Members:
It was a privilege and an honor to serve as your Chapter President for the 2015-2016 chapter year. It was rewarding this year to see our Chapter’s hard work continue to pay off. We’ve come a long way from our reorganization two years ago, and I am hopeful we can continue improving the Chapter and offer even more value to our members in the future.
This year the Chapter successfully sponsored four meetings for CPE credit – we updated our tax knowledge and learned how to navigate the investment market, how to prevent computer and data security breaches, and how to reduce our vendor costs. We also gathered for two networking events for professionals, including our annual holiday party at Barra Rossa, and an informative and tasty tour of Manatawny Stillworks.
The success of the Chapter takes a collective effort and would not be possible without the active support of our membership, the West Chester University staff, IMA’s Mid-Atlantic Council and Global offices, and especially our dedicated board members. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize each of you for your prior and continued service to the Chapter.
Our membership count has remained strong at 60+ members and I’m confident the West Chester Chapter will continue to grow under the direction of incoming president Kelly Tomlin and the rest of the board. We have a number of exciting programs and events planned for 2016-2017. I hope you continue to take advantage of the many opportunities your chapter membership provides, and I trust you are as excited as we are to continue the IMA tradition of success by making this our best chapter year yet. Fondly,
Amanda Bernard, CMA, CPA, CFE
